Milling method of carbide ball nose end mills cutter

Carbide ball nose end mills are made of hard alloy ball nose end mills, used for CNC machining centers, CNC engraving machines, and so on, can also be installed on the general milling machine to process some relatively hard and uncomplicated heat treatment materials. Carbide ball nose end mills the direction of feed relative to the workpiece and the direction of rotation of carbide ball nose end mills there are two main milling methods:
The first one is the side milling, where carbide ball nose end mills rotate in the same direction as the cutting feed, and at the beginning of the cutting, carbide ball nose end mills bites the workpiece and the final chip.
The second is reverse milling. Carbide ball nose end mills rotate in the opposite direction to the feed direction of the cutting. Before cutting begins, carbide ball nose end mills must slide a section of the workpiece, starting at zero cutting thickness, the maximum cutting thickness is achieved by the end of cutting.
When milling, the cutting force will press the workpiece to the worktable, reverse milling when the cutting force leaves the worktable. Due to the best cutting effect of down milling, usually, the first choice is down milling, only when there is a thread clearance problem or down milling can not solve the problem, only consider the inverse milling.
Every time carbide ball nose end mills enter cutting, the cutting edge is subjected to an impact load which depends on the cross-section of the chip, the material of the workpiece, and the type of cutting. In an ideal world, carbide ball nose end mills should have a diameter larger than the width of the workpiece, the carbide ball nose end mill's centerline should always be placed slightly away from the centerline of the workpiece. When the cutting tool is placed on the cutting center, it is easy to produce a burr.
The direction of the radial cutting force as the cutting edge enters and exits the cutting will vary, the spindle of the machine tool may vibrate and be damaged, the blade may shatter and the machined surface will be very rough, and the carbide ball nose end mills may be slightly off-center, the direction of the cutting force will no longer fluctuate and carbide ball nose end mills will receive a preload.
